Brandon loses yet another tooth...

Teeth are just flying out my boys mouths these days... Their grins are getting so very cute! Brandon has no top front teeth and when he talks it's totally adorable. You gotta love the lisp! He pulled one in Graham and then has been working steadily at getting the other one ready. On Tuesday night he really worked on it in earnest, even asking me to try pulling it. I gave it a whirl but told him I felt that it just wasn't ready yet. Well, he was not to be deterred so he kept working until to my surprise he got it out all by himself that very night! At one point when it was close I asked him if he wanted my help and he said, "No because I don't want to lower it's price." To which I laughed out loud. It's a little known fact - but apparently you get more $$ for your tooth if you pull it yourself!
Here is Brandon's new smile:

Father's Day...

I know what you're thinking... Two posts in one day when she rarely posts at all... Well, I guess I'm just getting caught up so to speak.

We had a nice father's day weekend. Very busy but nice. We took Shane to lunch at La Hacienda after church.

And, we met him up at the church that night because he was taking pictures at Fusion... We stayed to enjoy the patio party or "partio" and ate sub sandwiches and delicious cookies for dessert. I wanted to get some good pictures of Shane and the boys so we took a few by the lake at Fellowship. The boys even took turns taking some...
Brandon's turn to take a picture (but mom forgot to take off her sunglasses)
Trevor's turn behind the camera
It was a nice end to a great day!

Ailing Grandmother...

My 91 year old grandmother is beyond special to me. She has been an integral part of my life since the day I was born. She and my grandfather had an accident on the way to the hospital because they were so excited about my birth... Not a serious one mind you, but they were being careless because they were in such a hurry to meet me for the first time. All my life she has been there for me and to see her health, mind and body failing her is hard for me to bear. I'm so happy that I was just able to see her and spend some quality time with her. She and I have a special bond. My grandfather died when I was a senior in high school. It had been many years since she had been by herself, so I went to live with her the summer before college. She drove me to college and got me settled in. We have shared many wonderful memories with each other and I cherish her dearly. On Saturday she suffered a stroke and is currently recuperating in the hospital... Hopefully, she will be able to go back to the nursing home today. Thankfully and due to the grace of God, my Mom happened to call her right when it started. My Mom's quick response is the reason that she is most likely not going to have any major side effects from this last stroke. But, I know I have to face facts... One day we will not be so lucky...

She is one of the most Godly women I know and such a wonderful example of how we should live our lives. She never complains or whines about her lot in life. If only I could have an ounce of her strength! I certainly am blessed for having her in my life and thank God daily for allowing me to know her! I am a better person because of it!!! I'm also glad that my boys know her and love her like I do! They are lucky little guys! And, she just adores them... She has her favorite people in her life and it's no secret who they are. My Mom and I get a kick over that. If no one else but my Aunt and myself were to visit her, her life would be complete... LOL! My Mom teases me that we are the "chosen ones". So, because I'm important to her she is very important to me. I hope to get back to see her soon at least once more this summer. Once school starts it becomes almost impossible to make a trip over even though it's only around 2 hours away...

I'm just thankful that she is recovering and that I have the chance to see her again!

Paw Paw's 90th Birthday

Wow, am I late getting around to this post... Paw Paw's 90th birthday was in June of this year. They had a party for him in his hometown of Rockdale, Texas. It was nice to see family and share in his special day. Here is a slideshow from the party:

Trip to visit my Mom...

My Mom and I are very close and I have been missing her a ton. She only lives a couple of hours away, but it seems like we never have the time to see each other. When the boys got out of school for the summer we planned a trip over for a visit. It was a great time. The boys love being at her house. They have so much more freedom there than they do in the city. They can run around on her property and climb rocks, hike, ride their bikes and scooters, and pretend until their hearts are content! And, they love going to the city pool which has a slide, diving boards and a spray park. The city remodeled it a few years ago and turned it into a great place to go! I also got to visit with my 91 year old grandmother! She has been a rock for me in my life and I love her dearly! She isn't as spry as she used to be, but she loves sitting and watching the boys playing. While we were in Graham, TX, Brandon got Owen to loosen his tooth and he then went in the back room and pulled it himself! He was so proud of himself! He then wrote a note to the tooth fairy requesting that she let him keep his tooth until the first day of 2nd grade because he wanted to show it to his classmates. Too cute! Luckily she complied and left the tooth! LOL!
